The Scarf Falsity

Scarves are deceptive. The first project of so many beginning knitters, scarves have a reputation for being easy. But I came to the realization last night, that reputation is deceptive. Scarves are not a small bit of knitting. They are larger than they appear.  Like a size 0 supermodel that hasn't eaten a solid meal in a year, the skinniness masks the total mass generated by long  length.

I have been diligently working on the scarf portion of the Elegant Ensemble, and am nowhere near finished. I am halfway through the second skein, and have not even reached the halfway mark. I have used almost as much yarn as two mitts and the ear warmer, altogether.

Today, it is all about the deceptions.
